The California Energy Commission has awarded more than $15 million in grants for electric vehicles, carbon capture connected to a power plant and water savings technology. That’s in addition to $10.5 million awarded this week to the Port of Humboldt Bay for offshore wind development.
Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, reported annual earnings for 2021 a bit higher than the previous year, at $759 million, or $2.00 per share, compared to $739 million, or $1.98 per share, for 2020. Southern California Edison’s income rose to $829 million compared to $810 million in 2020.
This week the California Energy Commission approved $11 million in research grants for projects including a truck-mounted, non-polluting backup generator and a pilot program for a universal charger for electric vehicles.
